About Me
My name is Sian. I am a qualified integrative counsellor and a registered member of the British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists (BACP). My way of working is Person-Centred and Trauma-Informed. I am also trained in Transactional Analysis and Gestalt, which means that I can tailor my approach to suit your needs. No two people are the same, and I adapt my methods to each Individual.

What I can help with
Anxiety, life transitions or life crises, recent or historical trauma, lack of confidence or self-esteem, depression, issues with personal or work relationships, loneliness.
Who I work with
I work with adults of any age, and I see clients of any gender, race, religion, culture or sexual orientation.
On a personal level
I work with warmth, acceptance and sensitivity to support you to address the challenges you bring into the counselling space. When we work together, I'll be myself; an equal, not a blank screen, or someone "sorted', but someone who will have your best interests at heart. I am deeply committed to continuing my own personal growth and professional development so that I can offer a reflective, supportive and ethical practice.

As part of my training I worked with a mental health charity in South Oxfordshire, helping individuals
to address anything from issues of self-esteem and confidence, to problems with relationships, anxiety and depression, procrastination, trauma, grief, and changes in life direction. In addition to my private practice, I do freelance work for a charity specialising in supporting victims of sexual abuse. This work enriches my experience and deepens my understanding of how to hold space for people with care, sensitivity and compassion - whatever their story may be.

In addition to my training as a counsellor, I bring real-world experience to my therapeutic practice. As a wife and mother to a young adult daughter, I understand the complexities of family life, parenting and navigating relationships. Prior to becoming a counsellor I had a varied career, firstly in scientific research and later as a chartered management accountant. I have worked in
the NHS, academia and both private and public sectors, giving me a broad perspective on the various pressures on the various pressures and challenges people face in different aspects of their lives.

When I'm not working, I enjoy walking on my own, with my dog, or with friends. I love the natural environment. I am a keen gardener. I have always loved learning, and when I've had the time, I've invested in evening classes - anything from French to Pottery. I try (with mixed success) to exercise for fitness.
